Transcendence

"Transcendence" is a sculpture that can also be referred to as spatial installation art, portraying humanity's exploration in the future digital society. The structure, consisting of over 500 handmade elements, represents digital space, neural networks, and cosmic space. Within this space, people learn, contemplate, strive, create, and struggle, with various emotions interwoven, forming an inseparable relationship between individuals and the digital realm.

During the conceptual creation phase, the focus lies in creating a visual structure to construct neural network connections and present the multidimensional transformation of digital space. These abstract concepts cannot be represented by traditional thinking or modeling tools. Therefore, we employ parametric design methods to transform abstract forms into specific shapes, creating a three-dimensional morphology that emulates the natural growth of neural networks.

However, the emotionally and energetically lacking works generated through parametric processes fail to meet the artist's requirements for sculptural details. Hence, during the enlargement process, the 500 steel structures are continuously adjusted temporarily. They are observed from different angles to assess their visual effects in space. Plaster is used to shape the variations in thickness of each line, while the undulations of the sculpture's surface are refined through repeated adjustments of lighting conditions. In the metal forging stage, the 500 sculpture structures are assembled from thousands of stainless steel plates, requiring the patience and skill of the forging craftsmen. Each strike of the hammer on the steel plate's surface is a precise carving, gradually crafting intricate shapes out of the steel.

Within this space, connections exist between individuals and individuals, individuals and objects, individuals and the vast universe. Electromagnetic communication and spiritual resonance intertwine.
