Shanghai Donggang·Chengfu Homestay 2

With its proximity to Shanghai and rich cultural heritage, Changxing Island has become a new holiday destination. This project is an interior design proposal for a B&B on the island, with "elegance" as the core, deconstructing the fast pace of city life into a pleasant space through soft colours, natural materials and concise structures.
In terms of spatial structure, the sunken design fully introduces natural light into the interior, creating the effect of changing light and shadow. Meanwhile, the double-layered space is cleverly divided into different functional areas to improve the utilisation of space. As a critical place for home interaction, the dining room creates a fascinating contrast by employing warm and cold tones of materials, adding visual interest. Meanwhile, the dining room integrates various functions, breaking down spatial constraints and enriching the residents' experience.
In the second-floor bedroom, the soft and warm milky-tea coloured background, natural wooden furniture, cotton and linen fabrics, and pottery with warm texture and unique geometric shapes create a warm, comfortable, undisturbed haven of tranquillity. In addition, the cloakroom outlined with concise lines not only enhances the orderliness and practicality of the space but also highlights the pioneering attitude of the urban people and high-class taste with modern aesthetics.
