Originally a studio belonging to the homeowner's mother, this 25-year-old house, nestled on the first floor of a lane, suffered from a lack of sunlight due to obstructing walls. As the inaugural home for the couple post-marriage, it embodied numerous aspirations: The lady of the house, fond of spending time at home, harbored a preference for color of milk tea and yearned for a hotel-like bathing experience.

The renovation focused on light enhancement, achieved by installing expansive windows and adding a vestibule. The new large windows, adjacent to a generously sized desk, ensure a flood of natural light during work hours.

Homeowner's affinity for milk tea color palette sets foundational theme for space. A diverse array of materials has been employed to capture the essence of this hue, including wall paint, floral tiles adorning the desk front, terrazzo in milk tea tones, strategically arranged subway tiles in the kitchen, and bathroom tiles.

In communal areas, curved designs gracefully integrate with low beams, introducing an element of soothing roundness. Notably, a metal storage rack descending from the beam adjacent to the TV wall artfully diminishes the beam's presence, transforming a potential flaw into a striking feature.

The round dining table, a suggestion from the designer, emerged as a delightful surprise for the homeowners. Illuminated by a simple yet inviting chandelier, it evokes the leisurely ambiance of a café.

A bespoke, large desk seamlessly integrates with the living and dining areas. Its curved design not only resonates with the ceiling's arc but also optimizes storage efficiency. The expansive desk surface facilitates collaborative work between the couple.

The kitchen, part of the communal space, exhibits a creative play on varying shades of milk tea.

The open multi-functional room, accessible via doors on both sides of the circulation route, enhances permeability and introduces an element of playfulness, evident in the detailed handle designs.

The dream of a hotel-style bathroom, complete with luxurious baths, and the desire to expand the original bathroom have been fulfilled.
