Our Liuqiu

The project "Our Liuqiu" is located on the "Coral Reef Trail". The 1.2-kilometer trail is renovated to disperse the crowds at the seaside attractions and provides visitors with the opportunity to explore the local terrain and forests on foot. Three sets of artworks, " Sea-gazing Room", "Warm up for Adulthood" and "Eight Auspicious Creatures", are created by a team of artists from various fields stationed on the island. The concepts of the artworks are based on the local perspective of Liuqiu, accompanied by intensive field research and interviews with the elderly, to identify the cultural and living contexts from various local elements and transform them into creative elements.

The artworks aim to provide visitors to Liuqiu with a medium to learn more about local stories and culture. Together with the mechanism of a land geological tour promoted by the local government, the series of artworks increases the public's understanding of local culture and life stories and further promotes in-depth travel to explore the local customs and culture.
