The revitalization of the new Rich’s building is rooted in a distinctive business model that draws inspiration from European precedents and integrates the quality of timelessness as an additional source of value. The project aims to revitalize amenities that were lost in the modernization process, as well as introduce new ones to enhance the customer experience. The spaces tell a unique story of Rich’s past and look toward its future. Rich’s aims to bring back luxury that once characterized Atlanta as a commercial hub, with the community at its heart. Adhering to the ‘Luxury for Revitalization’ framework, the concept and design revolve around history, location, meta-luxury, authenticity, identity, space, and aesthetics holistically, recognizing the interconnectedness of these pillars. Inspired by European standards and traditional retail models, the department store features a fine grocery, restaurant and café, hotel, spa, fitness, and a rooftop experience.

The department store showcases a unique indoor en-plein-air style layout; this innovative design approach allows each brand its dedicated space. This concept also extends to multi-brand names, ensuring each brand has a distinct presence.

Upon entering, guests will be welcomed into the grand room, which houses a central bar and lounge seating where guests may relax before, during, and after their retail experience located on the upper levels. The Magnolia Room is positioned to the west, while the café with workspaces is situated in the east. The interior features an open atrium design with skylights extending to the roof, allowing natural light and ventilation. Escalators near the main entrances will transport guests to the upper levels in an open-air style. The lower level houses a fine grocery complete with a bakery, cafe, meat, and seafood sections, select items, spirits and wine, coffee bar, confectionary, oyster bar, champagne and caviar bar, and meat bar.
