Shanghai LONGHUAHUI is the first neighborhood commercial complex in Shanghai, enjoying a unique geographic location which provides excellent views of a millennium temple. With "meet on street” as the brand core, the project targets to create an ideal urban street block which integrates folklore stories, cultural collision, youth trends and green ecology. Inspired by the story of China's first female pilot, SED designers perfectly add a story line to the site.
Excavation, inheritance and innovation of the local culture runs through the whole process, from project positioning, architectural design, landscape design and operation, empowering business with culture. The layout design fully respects the historical axis of Longhua Temple. With Longhua Tower as the axis, the buildings unfold gently like a fan towards the waterfront. Several view corridors are created to blend the open views with low-density buildings, street scenes and plant landscaping.
The softscape design initiates natural long-lasting flower border. The general mood is fresh and elegant, greatly highlighting the commercial quality. In additional to the extended ornamental period, outstanding landscape effects are well presented.
The magic tree is inspired by the Sanxingdui cultural relics "bronze bud", attracting a large number of tourists. The main sunken plaza serves as a vertical traffic flow, connecting two underground floors and supporting the staggered block buildings on the ground. The underground passageway leads directly to the Longhua Temple, realizing a marvelous harmony between ancient temple and modern city.
The riverfront commercial street takes full advantages of the river ecology and maximizes the application of softscape. Each commercial building is equipped with miniature garden-style recreational space. The design of protective planting along the riverbank is beneficial to seepage during the rainy season.
In LONGHUAHUI Commercial Street, the "humanistic flavor" of old Shanghai and the "fusion and breakthrough" of the city's future business are taking place.
Look forward to the new life and image the future!
