Ever since WhistlePig first prophesied the future of Rye, they’ve endeavored to rewrite the laws of whiskey. Their latest premium release, The Boss Hog, was created to do just that. Because, after nine successful releases, The Boss Hog X: The Commandments, needed to transcend this tradition with a package that was worthy of carrying both ark and covenant —and upholding the pig prophet inside. Therefore to elevate the experience, we created a new revolving architecture and dramatic 360° reveal — breaking technical barriers while redefining what’s possible on a conventional press. The result was a transcendental blend of aesthetics and functionally and a good ol’ testament to heavenly taste.



Features include:

Revolving door structure that breaks from traditional gift box packaging.

Gold leaf effect achieved by layering graphics over cold foil on a matte coated stock — enhanced with embossing.

Unprecedented complexity and precision printing — executed in one pass.

Dramatic reveal by using cold foil on foil stock to make the box appear to be lit from within.

Labels featured custom dielines with a tactile gloss, high-build varnish and precision embossing.

Even the back of the labels were printed to add to the product experience.

Every bottle was unique featuring variable data and embedded interactive NFC chips to validate authenticity.



Sacrilegious? Perhaps. Superb? Divinely so. True to the challenge, The Boss Hog X celebrates WhistlePig’s Ten Commandments in a convention-breaking package that lives up to their latest evolution in premium whiskey. And though one will discover the Decalogue within. Any fan of WhistlePig Whiskey will know, there is but one mantra that matters most: Thou shalt not imbibe inferior Rye! And this package was no exception.
