In the hustle and bustle of life, where technology prevails, how do we carve out a space that provides children with a simple, carefree, and joyful early childhood experience as they step away from home for the first time?

Situated near the heart of Tainan City, we successfully preserve old trees and flora after carefully planning and creating a natural playground for children. Lush greenery gently envelops the central white structure, transforming it into a pure canvas that can perfectly accentuate the harmony between nature and young minds. The exterior features clean lines and light forms, ensuring a balance between privacy and safety while welcoming outdoor beauty and sunlight into the room. With the aspiration of bringing boundless energy and hope into daily growth and learning experiences, this space aims to radiate the vibrant spirit of a sunrise every day.

In a departure from the conventional Taiwanese kindergarten space and educational methods, the proprietor aimed to prevent electronic device addition in kids and replace screen-based learning with nature activities. The initial planning prioritized leveraging the lush greenery of the site, providing space for existing trees to grow while ensuring that every indoor space offers panoramic views. Instead of fixed play structures in the outdoor areas, we skillfully presented a large, versatile platform and grassy mounds with a sandbox, providing children with a dynamic space. In addition, we thoughtfully leave the space for future expansion of new campus facilities.

This project embraces a pure white aesthetic complemented by the raw texture of pebbledash as its surfaces, diverging from the typical vibrant colors associated with kindergartens. This understated choice harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment. We carefully exploited easy repairable coating and installed additional drip edges above the eaves to prevent rainwater and dust from directly affecting the exterior walls. We strategically adopt misalignment, suspended lines, and varied structures to create a rich layering effect for this single-story building. The entrance wall features small windows, maintaining a sufficient distance from outside through carefully recessed green spaces, ensuring the privacy of the campus.
