2024 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival “Party All Night Long“

This section in the Lantern Festival is named “Party All Night Long”, a phonetic response to the Year of Dragon (Loong). In this section, Department of Civil Affairs presents a joyful party in a pleasant, sustainable, and livable city.

Taichung City is composed of 29 administrative districts across mountainous, coastal, rural, and urban areas. Each district features different produce, histories, and cultures. Along the 210-meter-long road, this section places 29 lantern installations to create a huge dragon. These lanterns include local characters, and respond to SDGs by the United Nations.

The scene is designed as a joyful party. Lanterns include huge stereo speakers, DJ mixer table, disco balls, neon dance floor, large headphones, and posh dancers. This creative and youthful image is very different from conventional impressions about civil service. The DJ Dragon character is placed to control lights and music that citizens of all ages can enjoy. This festival accommodates all demographics to connect with local emotions and memories.
