Nanxun Ancient Town Guide Design

The design takes traditional Chinese architecture as its core while innovatively incorporating elements of Western architecture, creating guide signs that reflect the cultural characteristics of Nanxun and cater to modern aesthetic preferences.

The innovative top structure is particularly striking, which blends upturned eaves of traditional Chinese roofs and Western vaults, aiming to resonate with the traditional architectural style of the ancient town; its simple, fluid lines lead to a modern aesthetic. This mix of Eastern and Western elements embodies the town’s openness, and cultural integration.

In terms of material selection, the main facade made of clear glass displays landmark information, giving a sense of modernity and lightness. It also uses “enframed scenery” to frame the beautiful scenery of the ancient town, and draw them into the visitors’ view, ensuring a visually interactive experience. Additionally, the glass surface features semi-transparent Chinese ink paintings related to local culture, echoing time-honored, mottled white walls in the town. The guide signs will be a part of the town’s landscape, providing a more immersive experience.

Following the idea of people orientation, the guide signs with a reasonable layout offer understandable text and accurate guidance, which contributes to an intuitive, convenient, comfortable touring experience for visitors and enhances their overall perception of the town’s landscape.
