GIG (Greed Is Good) is a retail store design project situated in Shanghai, China. While traditionally viewed in a negative light, the term "greed" harbors untapped positive connotations. GIG endeavors to redefine this concept, inviting individuals to embrace the constructive aspects of ambition and wealth accumulation. Our aim is to foster an environment where visitors can harness the energy of "greed" as a catalyst for growth.
Drawing inspiration from contemporary pop culture, we have meticulously crafted the store's logo and brand identity, prominently featuring neon green as the signature color. This vibrant hue extends seamlessly to the interior lighting and décor, imbuing every corner with a captivating allure. At every turn, visitors are greeted with elements designed to both astonish and motivate within the immersive "greedy" ambiance.
The ceiling features a cascading river of gold, guiding visitors through the entrance and igniting their journey within. Angular walls and carefully orchestrated lighting further enhance the architectural dynamics, creating an atmosphere that resonates with the ethos of "greed is good". From ornate column rings to gilded display settings, every detail exudes opulence, encapsulating the essence of the brand.
Central to the store's layout is a majestic staircase adorned in gold, symbolizing the ascent to greater heights driven by ambition. Crafted entirely from perforated metal panels, this grand structure resembles a gleaming bullion, serving as a beacon for intrigued onlookers. Welcoming guests at the threshold is a resplendent leopard sculpture, beckoning them to explore the enchanting world of GIG.
Ascending the staircase unveils a realm of luxury, featuring a bespoke bar and exclusive shopping area reserved for GIG's esteemed clients. Here, classical architectural elements harmonize with the contemporary spirit of the brand, creating an ambiance that epitomizes sophistication. From custom furnishings to curated artworks, every facet of the interior design promises a singularly indulgent experience for discerning guests.
