The alpine style climbing is an exceedingly risky activity that demands a superior level of performance in climbing equipment, as it is designed to be self-sufficient, lightweight, and swift. To address the genuine needs of professional athletes, Kolon team conducted in-depth user research and incorporated feedback from numerous climbs exceeding an altitude of 5,000 meters. This culminated in the development of the P.I.L layering system for alpinists, founded on lightweight principles, with a mere total weight of 2,270 grams. This system aims to meet rigorous professional performance requirements while significantly reducing the load, empowering climbers to confront extreme challenges.

The entire P.I.L layering system adopts a five-layer modular design, offering adaptability to fluctuating climatic conditions and individual needs during high-altitude mountaineering, all constructed with lightweight, insulating, and abrasion-resistant materials. The down parka features two layers of GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER lightweight material with a RIPSTOP tear-resistant structure to enhance durability, while the hardshell layer is made of ultra-lightweight 40D GTX PRO fabric. Furthermore, the down parka incorporates high fluffiness goose down surpassing 900FP and employs an original innovative filling technique of boxwall+airtube, which strategically allocates down insulation based on the body's heat distribution during climbing, further reducing system weight. Additionally, it is optimized by 3D tailoring designs for key Asian body movement areas. These ensure not only effective warmth but also enhance breathability and flexibility for climbers.

Kolon, as a leading outdoor brand, remains its commitment to sustainability in the P.I.L system. Kolon has developed the parka without dyeing, treated with fluorine-free, water-repellent DWR and constructed with abrasion-resistant GTX PRO fabrics, thus prolonging its lifespan. This layering system is particularly popular among climbers for its unparalleled lightweight reliability, signifying the harmonious coexistence between alpinists and nature.
