Social media platforms have revolutionized the way information is shared, allowing us to spread words, images, and sounds with ease. However, one sensory experience that has been notably absent from the digital realm is the sense of smell. This project aims to bridge this sensory gap by introducing an innovative odor transmission device that enables scents sharing and transmission, creating a more immersive and multi-sensory communication experience.
Scentverse comprises the wearable odor device and an App. The former allows users to select and send specific scents, and receives and interprets odor transmissions from other users, innovatively transmitting smells over the Internet. The App receives and transmits the odor signals to other parties. The two are connected via Bluetooth.
The device features a lightweight streamlined design that fits the facial contours. It innovates in the incorporation of two micro-current release heads within the device, cleverly extending into the nostrils to stimulate nasal nerves and achieve odor transmission. The rear of the device is designed with a detachable collection unit on one side, allowing users to conveniently gather specific odors when needed.
The App is indispensable from Scentverse. It allows users to easily explore and share various scents. Users can visually browse various scents on the App, such as those of perfumes, food, plants, etc. Simply click one of these scents, and the scent will transmit instantly to the user through the wearable device, thus creating an immersive scent experience. Additionally, they can leave comments, favorite scents, and interact with other users via this App.
Users can freely explore various uploaded scents, contribute their unique scents, and share their sensory experiences by uploading scent files and images. The App also provides a message center to keep users informed about community interactions in real-time, and a likes overview to gauge the appreciation of other users for their shared content.
With Bluetooth connection, users can effortlessly connect their devices to phones, enabling wireless connectivity and device control. In short, the app creates a vibrant community space that encourages users to share, communicate, and interact, fostering a rich and diverse olfactory experience community.
