The Scent of Floating-1/UMU Bakery
Perceiving the Scents of the CityInfinity Minus One Oriental Spice Bakery. We ground the concept of traditional Oriental spices and Western baking in Dongguan, like the wind through banana groves or rivers flowing into the sea, meeting is a fortunate event. Dongguan, a city worth savoring, boasts diverse landscapes and customs, cultivating discerning taste buds. Even well-known zongzi can vary in over twenty ways due to different methods of preparation and fillings. After decades of changes, villages have transformed into skyscrapers. Buildings are containers; when scaled up to accommodate people, they become architecture.
In designing buildings, we aim to experiment with new methods to convey ideas, fulfill functions, and spark discussion. Located in a bustling commercial area surrounded by high-rises, our project seeks to create an architectural device that disperses scent, floating it in the city's airspace. Above the surrounding high-rises, one can see a light gas floating downwards, passing through which is our constructed herb garden, a delightful white cottage, and a romantic garden full of aromatic plants. This piece elicits interesting feelings from different urban viewpoints.
