The famous "Nihonbashi Tamai" Japanese restaurant, which focuses on star eel dishes, has entered a well-known department store in Taipei. Eel is one of the four great foods of the Edo period. In order to closely echo the cultural history and food materials, the whole space is designed with the Edo period as inspiration. The cement paint with rough and natural texture is used as the base, and the dark and dark brown wood grain is added to create a mysterious feeling; combined with the grille shape and the image of Mount Fuji, the lighting plan accentuates the gradual vision and creates the historical atmosphere of the Edo period.

To define the interior of the restaurant with deep colors, the floor of public area outside the restaurant is paved with four-leaf clover tiles, which has a retro atmosphere and can show a bright and lively visual effect. Meanwhile, the low wall and horizontal sliding door shaped by the penetrating grille cleverly define the interior and exterior areas of the restaurant, while creating an extended sense of space. The entrance door combines the blue cloth curtain and white font, highlighting the characteristics of the Edo period restaurant layout and popular elements of The Times; floor and furniture of the dining space are wood-hued dining tables and chairs, which stand out from the black ceiling and wall background, and add a warm dining atmosphere; the dining table is equipped with a triangular iron hollowed-out lighting, providing the required lighting during meal, and bringing the finishing touch of hierarchical vision.

In addition to the open seating plan, the sliding door design is also used as a flexible compartment to improve the effectiveness of space use. When viewing the sliding door, an independent box space can be created to meet the diverse needs of dinner parties and meetings.

How to make full use of color, material and solid structure safety, and strongly convey the cultural characteristic of Japanese Edogawa is the focus of this design.
