Urban Villa

For people who living in city accustomed to fast-paced life and skyscraper, the most luxury thing is personal space, the most distant thing is nature.
This is not just a place to live, but also an ideal place to live in harmony with nature, relax and enjoy life.
Sunlight can shine into every corner of the villa, so we planned to maximize the strength as design key point. In addition, we didn't want to sacrifice the owner's comfort by simply enlarging the window for light, so we reconstruct all windows facing the pavement. In order to avoid sight from passersby and neighbors.
We created a central hollow wall at entrance, the hollow set as a child’s height which is convenience for adults to keep their items handy, and a fun, interactive space for children.
The spiral staircase is the most romantic and strong visual impact zone of the villa. The owner wished to preserve the original roof, allowing the essential form of the building to be revealed. We improve the atmosphere to attract people willing to stay by clean and soft lines of lighting. It showcases the original charm of the building while conveying the essence of modern aesthetics.
It is human instinct to live with nature, which is limited
Living with nature and listening to our heart are basic and instinctive needs, but we do have limited chance under urban pace. Through this program JLD team explored another way of urban residential space, and “what are we chasing for?”is a life-long issue.
