Considered the existing spatial dimensions including the scale and the beams-columns system to plan a suitable layout and flow of this new building. The goal was to create a comfortable and convenient living environment that meets the homeowner's needs within a limited indoor space. The design team maximized available space by incorporating a clever mezzanine design into the indoor space with a 3.4-meter ceiling height, transforming limited existing spaces into versatile living areas. Opted for eco-friendly Italian paints in shades of gray and white and mineral coatings were applied to large wall surfaces, naturally regulating humidity and meeting the EU's green building material certifications for non-chemical emissions. The trowel technique used adds a natural, organic texture. Enhanced by wood grain, stone and light gray tones, thus, the space is imbued with warm, natural and cultural elements. Special attention was given to the ceiling, where a curved design creates a soft texture, reducing the feeling of confinement and extending the visual field. The incorporation of light strips enhances the space's exceptional character, adding depth and sophistication through light and shadow. Transformed the room behind the living room into a versatile multi-functional space, incorporating elevated architecture to make it not only a Japanese-style room but also a study and bedroom, fulfilling various functions such as a study, place for rest and storage. Additionally, at the entrance, functional design ensures that the homeowners who usually have the habit of riding bicycles can have enough storage space for their bicycles. Utilized the building’s facade for design, avoiding excessive and superfluous decorative elements. Combined with LED lighting, this approach effectively saves energy and reduces carbon emissions in the same time.
