This psychological counseling center combines Japanese Zen and Nordic styles, forming a unique Japandi design. The reception area features a curved design that softens the edges, immediately giving visitors a sense of warmth and comfort. The lighting design is simple yet effective, with pendant and indirect lighting reflecting off natural travertine composite materials, adding rich visual layers.
The waiting area uses soft neutral tones combined with natural wood, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable sofas and chairs paired with wooden coffee tables enhance the natural and cozy feel. The counseling rooms emphasize privacy, using soundproof materials and soft lighting to create a safe and relaxing environment for clients.
The multifunctional space is designed with flexibility in mind, suitable for group discussions, workshops, or meditation sessions. It features movable furniture and multi-purpose equipment to meet various activity needs.
The beams are deliberately wrapped to appear larger, symbolizing the structural support of the space and representing the counseling center as the pillar of clients' mental well-being. Mirror designs provide visual extension and are paired with dynamic water light projections. These projections, reflected on the suspended mirrors, cast water ripple effects into the waiting area, creating an immersive experience reminiscent of sunlight on a lake.
The walls are hand-painted with latex paint, and clients were invited to participate in the painting process, deepening their emotional connection to the space. We believe that the beauty of imperfection is a true expression of beauty. Through this space, we aim to convey that everyone has their own individuality and unique growth path. Everyone makes mistakes, but these imperfections are what make us unique and stronger.
The design inspiration comes from Japandi masters like Axel Vervoordt and Nordic designer Alvar Aalto, who emphasize the use of natural materials and light effects to create soft, poetic spaces. Every detail in this psychological counseling center is meticulously designed to provide a tranquil and comfortable environment, helping visitors find inner peace. This design is not just a space but a sanctuary for the soul, allowing everyone who enters to feel calm and serene.
