State Grid Huzhou Power Cultural Center

This project creatively interprets Huzhou’s new power system — a model for the industry, while also showcasing the unique development idea and cultural deposits of Huzhou.
Huzhou, a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, is well-known as “National Forest City”, and is also the birthplace of the concept of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”. Based on that, this project takes “waters and mountains” as the theme, and is commitment to highlighting the local ecological environment and regional culture. The curved elements run through the walls, floor and suspended ceiling, which are reminiscent of continuous mountains and sparkling waters in Huzhou, injecting a dynamic and soft aesthetic to the space.
In terms of layout, the design team, making full use of the space, has cleverly integrated the theme wall with the central island to facilitate a smooth flow design. Inspired by the saying of “Half of the history of Chinese painting and calligraphy belongs to Huzhou”, the columns are shaped like scrolls, whose combination with the wall engraved with the core values of State Grid adds a sense of visual layering and embodies profound cultural significance. Meanwhile, the grilles, paired with the display screen resembling flowing water, further show the beauty of Huzhou’s natural landscape. Moreover, the suspended ceiling features the contour of the south bank of Taihu Lake, which echoes the flowing water pattern on the floor to present a magnificent, harmonious visual effect.
The project adopts diverse display methods, including 3D models, sand tables, pictures, videos, animations, etc., to offer visitors a richer and deeper experience. Additionally, green, white and natural wood color as main colors create a fresh and warm atmosphere.
