Sentosa Sensoryscape redefines conventional park design by seamlessly integrating nature, architecture and technology to offer a unique, multi-sensory experience along Sentosa Island's main artery. This two-tiered walkway connects attractions in the north to the beaches in the south, bridging the island's ridgeline to the reef. As the inaugural project of Singapore's Greater Sentosa Master Plan, Sensoryscape aims to enhance capacity and provide guests with an exceptional and inspiring exploration of the island, marking a significant milestone in Sentosa's evolution as a premier global leisure and tourism destination.
Sensoryscape is a canvas where uniquely designed spaces, set amidst lush landscape, and ‘phygital’ experiences awaken our 6th sense of imagination. Guests are led through the walk with a ‘ridge-to-reef’ narrative, offering contemplative moments. The upper walkway offers panoramic views, while the lower walkway, adorned with playful 'hammock' seats, leads to six sensory gardens. Three of these gardens are parametrically designed as woven vessels, showcasing tactile plants, scented flora, and polyphonic water fountains, creating a heightened sensory experience and appreciation of nature. These porous vessels allow nature, views, and light to permeate, while framing and displaying nature’s treasures like a bouquet of flowers held within a vase. Placing guests at the centre stage of these vessels, the design heightens our senses and amplifies our appreciation of nature.
At night, Sensoryscape transforms into a mesmerising spectacle through interactive digital light art and augmented reality-enhanced 'ImagiNite'. In the north, enigmatic coloured fog and dancing sky beams at the ‘Lookout Loop’ beckon guests from afar, ushering them towards the three bespoke vessels – ‘Tactile Trellis’, ‘Scented Sphere’ and ‘Symphony Streams'. A side path then whizzes one into the playful food web projections at ‘Palate Playground’ and the southernmost ‘Glow Garden’, which is flanked by self-illuminating towering flower stalks.
Since its opening in mid-March 2024, Sensoryscape has attracted over a quarter million guests monthly, becoming a popular attraction for both locals and tourists. It has also garnered almost 2 billion media outreach from Singapore and in the region. Sensoryscape embodies SDC’s commitment to creating extraordinary landmarks inspired by the beauty of nature, inspiring guests through memorable discoveries.
