La Maison d’Ambre is a visionary project that transforms the conventional perception of ceramic tiles. Spearheaded by the second-generation owner of a tile shop, this design challenges the traditional cold and hard image of tiles, showcasing their true potential with innovative craftsmanship.
The design ethos revolves around softening the rigid nature of tiles, infusing them with warmth and elegance. By leveraging the natural mineral textures of tiles, the project breathes new life into these materials, presenting them as more than just building blocks but as elements of refined artistry.
The design highlights are both bold and poetic. Throughout the space, sweeping arches and curves gracefully soften the hard edges of the tiles, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. In the bathrooms, stone-patterned tiles evoke the timeless beauty of natural stone, enhancing the sense of tranquility and connection with nature.
The project faced significant challenges in achieving curved and grille tile designs. These complexities were met with meticulous hand-cutting and shaping, resulting in tiles that embody both precision and artistry.
In material selection, the innovation of curved tile processing redefines the traditional tile experience, blending durability with tactile and visual warmth.
La Maison d’Ambre is not just a space, and also a testament to the transformative power of design, elevating the humble tile into an emblem of sophistication and comfort.
