Steady Steps to High Places

Steady Steps to High Places is a duplex residence located in Shantou City that offers breathtaking views of the natural inner bay. The design centers around a deep sense of humanistic care, striving for a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetics.

As a renovation project, we redefined the spatial layout:
On the first floor, the number of rooms was reduced to enhance the openness of the living room, tea area, and dining space. The staircase direction was adjusted to optimize the access on the second floor.
The parapet wall was transformed into a green landscape feature, complementing the floor-to-ceiling windows in the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, inviting natural light and greenery into the home.
A sunken seating area was added to the second-floor terrace, offering a perfect spot to enjoy the bay views from home.
The first floor, serving as the main activity area, has been made more open and airy by removing one room, facilitating better interaction among family members.

The overall decoration adopts a modern Hong Kong-style luxury design, incorporating British details, which reflects the owner's refined taste and creates a livable, elegant living space.
