Jinsha Tianyue, Shangqiu

Located in the heart of Shangqiu, Henan Province, the project sets a new benchmark for high-end luxury residences by integrating local characteristics with historical culture. The landscape design blends these elements with the natural environment, creating a unique living space for residents. It shows a modern interpretation of academy aesthetics, offering an elevated living experience that combines luxury, cultural connotation, and a strong sense of place.

Inspired by Yingtian Academy

The design draws inspiration from Yingtian Academy, a prestigious institution from the Northern Song Dynasty and one of China's four major academies. As the only academy established in a bustling city, its influence is woven into the fabric of the design. By distilling the essence of academy culture and interpreting it through modern architecture, the project integrates the concept of a water courtyard, continuing the ritualistic spatial arrangement of the academy. This design reflects the elegant lifestyle of scholars, infusing the modern living space with refinement and intellectual spirit.

Entrance

The main entrance features a traditional Song-style eaves design, incorporating ancient architectural elements and a graphite gray sloped roof. The modern Chinese approach highlights traditional academy culture, with optimized details enhancing the overall coherence and reflecting a harmonious yet dynamic urban gateway.

Ancient Pavilion

An ancient pavilion sourced from Jingdezhen, known for its exquisite porcelain, is the highlight of the project. Each wooden component was carefully disassembled, packed, and transported thousands of miles to Shangqiu. Over 20,000 wooden parts were meticulously reassembled over nearly a month by seven skilled craftsmen.

Integration of Nature and Culture

Distinct from typical community landscapes, the project genuinely integrates natural art and culture into the environment. By incorporating natural elements, it creates diverse scenes that enrich the space. While presenting the living environments of ancient academies, it reimagines sophisticated future lifestyles, activating innovative concepts and settings.
