Fuluhui

Situated in Quzhou, a historic cradle of Neo-Confucianism during the Song Dynasty, the restaurant Fuluhui seamlessly weaves the cultural and aesthetic essence of the era into its design. The entrance, with its horizontally elongated form, establishes a striking sense of ceremony, inviting patrons to step back in time to the Song Dynasty. The precise, elegantly arranged lines of Fuluhui's signboard capture the refined charm of the Southern Song period, while the carefully ordered celadon screens and palace lanterns at the entrance evoke the architectural grace of the era, imbuing the space with a classical allure.

The restaurant’s layout is linear, emphasizing a strong sense of spatial structure. The square configuration, paired with an elevated ceiling, creates an atmosphere of stability and balance. Varying table designs, adjusted in proportion, offer distinct dining experiences, tailored to each unique space.

The visually striking water curtain wall is the focal point, accompanied by the calming sound of flowing water that adds a lively energy to the space. The design draws inspiration from the Song-era concept of "floating cups in meandering streams," seamlessly blending traditional elements with modern technology to create a sense of novelty and fun.

The interior’s recreation of Southern Song court style is enriched by the use of Dai Zhu red, a distinctive hue from the palace walls of the period. Classical palace lanterns, positioned between seating areas, not only illuminate the space but also enhance the cultural depth, encapsulating the spirit of Southern Song aesthetics.
