In this meticulously designed modification, the introduction of the circular arc hole not only skillfully breaks the dullness and enclosed feeling brought by traditional floor slabs but also connects the upper and lower spaces with a gentle and elegant gesture, imparting more fluidity and layering to the space. This hole, akin to a natural viewfinder, gently introduces the scenery upstairs into the downstairs while allowing light and air to freely traverse, creating a harmonious beauty that is both separate and connected. Design-wise, the circular arc form avoids the visual and psychological oppression that sharp corners might bring, replacing them with rounded, inclusive lines that make the entire space appear warmer and safer. This design philosophy not only embodies the meticulous consideration for the residents' comfort but also demonstrates the designer's profound understanding and pursuit of spatial aesthetics. Furthermore, this modification ingeniously utilizes light and shadow effects. As the sun rises and sets, light passing through the hole projects constantly changing patterns onto the space below, adding a touch of fun and poetry to daily life. At the same time, such a design promotes visual communication between the upper and lower floors, allowing residents to feel each other's presence and the breath of life in different levels, enhancing the interactivity and sense of belonging of the space. Upon opening the entrance door, one can immediately sense the designer's careful arrangement. The wooden entrance cabinet with its elegant and simple texture even hints at a touch of stone texture. The slightly frosted cylindrical flowerpot reflects its surroundings, weakening its own presence while highlighting the green plants visible upon entering. The mottled green field oil painting on the wall echoes this, forming a large visual focal point. A detail worth mentioning is the long strip light fixture installed above the painting, blending classical and modern elements. It provides appropriate lighting while its classical patterns add an artistic touch.
