New World Development HQ2

Spatial Concept has transformed the New World Development HQ2 in Cheung Sha Wan into a dynamic workspace, harmoniously blending contemporary design with traditional influences. The design embodies the essence of the Artisanal Movement, emphasizing craftsmanship and artistic expression throughout the 80,000 sq. ft. corporate premises across levels eight to eleven.

The concept is rooted in a modern interpretation of the siheyuan, a traditional Chinese courtyard home, fostering a communal spirit conducive to collaboration and creativity. Central to the design is a courtyard motif, most prominently featured in the 10th-floor reception area, which boasts a serene shallow pool and a towering tree, enhancing workplace well-being. The reception desk, crafted from locally sourced granite, exemplifies bespoke design with its striking mix of rough and polished finishes.

Spatial Concept has integrated an L-shaped internal staircase that connects the first three levels, featuring a glowing light trough along its balustrade, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Social hubs, gallery walls, and tiered seating areas provide spaces for informal meetings and corporate gatherings, reflecting New World Development’s collaborative ethos. The use of natural materials, such as regionally sourced terrazzo, walnut, and oak, coupled with a soothing color palette inspired by nature, contributes to a relaxed ambiance.

Sustainability is a core focus, with over 60% of the finishes made from sustainable materials, including terrazzo composed of up to 80% recycled content. Spatial Concept’s commitment to minimizing plastic use and enhancing acoustic performance ensures a healthier workplace, aligning with the pursuit of LEED and BEAM Plus certifications.
