Beit Hanna is a local recreation center that embodies the spirit of the new world, providing a multifaceted space for training and exercise, cultural events, workspaces, craft clubs, and a café. It serves as a vibrant Third Place, where wellness, creativity, and community engagement converge, offering an inviting and dynamic environment.
The recently opened Beit Hanna Brodetsky, located in Ramat Aviv Hayeruka, is the younger sibling of Beit Hanna Ben Gurion and Beit Hanna HaRabi in the Florentin neighborhood, both of which have been operating for six years. Beit Hana Brodetsky is located in an industrial building with an area of 500 square meters that was previously used as a Tamuz cinema. The building’s minimalist architecture, characterized by clean lines and lack of ornamentation, presented the challenge of transforming a single-level space into a two-level community hub, while maintaining harmony between its functions.
To achieve this, the space was divided into two floors and designed in a “U” shape. This allows the center’s functions—including a café, a store, sports studios for yoga and fitness, a handcraft studio, and a conference room—to surround and overlook the central lounge. The 250-square-meter gallery level adds functional spaces, enhancing interaction between zones. Semi-transparent partitions, wooden shutters, and concrete walls with circular openings allow for open views while maintaining distinct areas.
At the heart of Beit Hanna Brodetsky is its central lounge, a multifunctional space for both work and recreation. Here, visitors can enjoy performances on the stage and cinema screen, or relax at workstations. The lounge fosters a sense of community, where people can meet, work, and connect in an atmosphere of creativity.
The design integrates simplicity with functionality, using custom-designed furniture to complement the airy feel. Beit Hanna Brodetsky’s design reflects its mission as a Third Place—a space where wellness, community, and creativity thrive, offering a blend of leisure and interaction for its local community.
