17 Miles Home Design

Located in Shenzhen's 17 Miles, this project combines scenic mountain and sea views with the essence of community culture. Starting with a minimalist approach, we created a space that merges the beauty of nature with both communal and private living. Here, one can enjoy the feel of Miami-style ocean views while experiencing the ambiance of a close-knit community. The project seeks to carry forward Vanke’s initial vision of creating a seaside vacation atmosphere in Shenzhen, promoting a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle that encourages interactions and harmony among neighbors and with nature.
Through a skillful transformation, we introduced a “courtyard” concept within the high-rise, transforming the original corridor into a “community” space for neighborly interaction. The kitchen door has been replaced with a folding window, paired with movable furniture to enable flexible layouts while preserving the flow of movement. All materials are water- and sun-resistant, and easy-to-maintain, wind-resistant plants add vitality to the space. The indoor bar extends into the corridor, becoming a venue for neighborly conversations when the windows are open; residents can enjoy views of greenery and distant mountains while cooking, bringing them closer to nature. Additionally, foldable tables and chairs allow the corridor to transform into an outdoor dining or reading area at any time, enhancing community engagement.
