Designed by DAA Design Associates for a gentleman in his 60s, this Johor home beautifully embodies elegance, timelessness, and contemporary charm. While prioritizing liveability, the design does not compromise on beauty or sophistication, creating a warm and welcoming sanctuary. A home, after all, is more than a place to rest; it should rejuvenate and add vibrancy to life.

From the exterior, the house exudes tranquility, with elegant landscaping and an inviting pool that resemble a peaceful oasis. Inside, a minimalist and serene palette of soft greys and whites, accented with warm brown tones from leather and wood, enhances the feeling of comfort and hospitality.

The homeowner’s passion for art shines throughout the space, creating a relaxed yet artistic atmosphere. Practicality meets creativity with numerous display areas for art pieces, including a striking tile-like art wall in the living room that sets the tone. Minimalist décor highlights the vibrancy and uniqueness of each piece, allowing the artwork to take center stage.

To meet the client’s wishes, the designers introduced a multilayered approach by removing barriers and incorporating moveable doors that separate spaces while maintaining openness and cohesion. Clever design solutions addressed unchangeable structural elements, maximizing space and blending indoor and outdoor areas seamlessly.

A notable highlight is the circular skylight above the dining table, bringing in natural light and a glimpse of the outdoors, adding harmony to the space. Colourful Hermes scarves and curated lighting complete the look, giving the home a sophisticated yet modern charm.
