In the context of the global green transformation, China and Africa have joined forces to promote sustainable development, focusing on integrated solutions to address issues in education, health, and longevity. We designed this product with the long-term sustainability of Africa’s environment and resources in mind, aiming to promote sustainable development across the continent. From the perspective of youth health education, we seek to foster the well-being of African youth, and from the perspective of African soccer culture, we aim to provide adequate sports resources for young people. Our design incorporates the core concepts of sustainability, environmental protection, China-Africa cooperation, and health education, all of which reflect our unique understanding of "longevity"—a guiding principle that informs our design and approach.

To address the challenges related to education and longevity, we developed Sport Can, a soccer ball made from compressed plastic waste. This product transforms discarded materials into a durable, sustainable soccer ball through a low-cost, low-tech, and replicable process.

By using this product, African youth not only gain knowledge about environmental protection, resource recycling, and waste utilization, helping to mitigate local environmental pollution, but they also integrate soccer into health education, which contributes to their physical fitness and lays a foundation for a healthy, long life. The design of Sport Can reflects the design team’s deep commitment to the education and longevity of African youth, as well as China’s positive contribution to the well-being of the African people.
