Han's Courtyard House

The project is located in Shengfang Town, Bazhou, Hebei Province, an important commercial town with many merchants and beautiful scenery, which has the reputation of "Suzhou and Hangzhou in the south and Shengfang in the north" since ancient times. The owner is a local business family, whose family has been obsessed with Chinese opera culture for generations, and in this context, this courtyard mansion with a private theater covering an area of 6 acres and carrying the dreams and feelings of the owner came into being.

The layout of the project refers to the regulation of "Zuo Zu and Right Society" in the "Zhou Li Examination Record", and the main courtyard on the west side is a three-entry Beijing courtyard facing south: it is composed of a house door, an inverted seat room, a hanging flower door, a hand-copying verandah, an east and west wing room, a main room, an ear room and a back cover building. The door of the house is in the southeast corner, reflecting the "Kan Zhai Xunmen", and also takes the meaning of "purple gas from the east". The main building of the east side of the courtyard is a spectacular square heavy eaves and sharp theater building, which is taken from the philosophical idea of "the sky is round and the place is round" in traditional culture, and has the beautiful meaning of "harmony between heaven and earth, complete and stable". The landscapes such as the water pavilion, koi pond and Taihu Lake rockery are all designed in accordance with the traditional Chinese architectural culture, aiming to carry forward and innovate the Chinese architectural culture.
