Quanzhou, historically known as Licheng, was once the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, boasting long history and rich culture.
This project integrates local distinctive architectural and cultural elements (drip beasts, carp, Qingyuan Mountain, East Tower and West Tower, Maritime Silk Road, etc.) with the brand culture, to create a unique totem-like brand symbol, seamlessly transforming 3D objects into 2D patterns. The 88 laser-cut acrylic pieces of these patterns are cleverly arranged and suspended to form a large art installation centred on the brand logo. As for color selection, the installation mainly utilizes the brick-red color derived from the roof of Gucuo, inheriting regional memories while conveying the vigor inherent in the sports brand. Furthermore, the mirrored film applied to the floor of the centre is reminiscent of the Maritime Silk Road; the reflection of patterns in the mirrored surface makes the space visually roomier, leading to rich visual effects and spicing up the overall store.
The highly recognizable project makes a deep impression upon consumers and sparks heated discussions, effectively promoting the inheritance and spread of Quanzhou’s culture. Meanwhile, it also reflects the brands’ commitment to a healthy lifestyle, encouraging people to actively participate in sports activities.
