Strategically positioned within the golden triangle of Gaoqi Airport, Fanghu, and Wuyuan Bay, Xiamen’s High-Tech Park is rapidly emerging as the island’s new economic engine. The project is located adjacent to Huli Innovation Park Metro Station, where metro lines, BRT express routes, and elevated cycling paths weave together a seamless transportation network. With a mere ten-minute connection to the airport and panoramic, unobstructed city views, this location is naturally endowed with the essence of an urban living room. The designer, inspired by the sea breeze, masterfully blends Xiamen’s distinctive Nanyang heritage with futuristic aesthetics, creating an island garden suspended amidst the urban jungle.
Floral Isles, Vibrant Colors, Modern Elegance, and Dappled Light, these four themed pocket gardens form the soul of the community. The Floral Isles area features Phoenix trees and bougainvillea, weaving a native botanical tapestry of the city. The Vibrant Garden enlivens social interactions with colorful terrazzo walls and artistic installations. The Modern Courtyard introduces mirror-like water features and illuminated archways, capturing the romance of a city that never sleeps by the sea. Meanwhile, the Dappled Light Garden, adorned with Nanyang-style floral tiles and woven rattan pavilions, invites residents to embrace slow living. Eschewing the traditional enclosed apartment layout, the design employs U-shaped glass brick facades to dissolve architectural boundaries, while the steel framework transforms into a living frame for climbing bougainvillea. Every window becomes a curated lens framing the sky and sea.
As a benchmark project for government-supported rental housing, the development redefines urban living through an ecological awakening. Eco-friendly stone-like bricks reduce carbon footprints by 60%, a sponge city system achieves a 45% rainwater reuse rate, and the rooftop photovoltaic array offsets an annual carbon footprint equivalent to planting 3,000 trees. More than just a residence for high-tech professionals, this is a dynamic experiment in the fusion of Nanyang aesthetics and sustainable innovation. From BRT commuters to airport transit passengers, from tech pioneers to creative visionaries, everyone can find their own Xiamen narrative in the aroma of coffee beneath the sheltered arcades.
