This is a residential space for a three-generation family, which, as the children grow, has failed to meet new living demands. In response, the design team has renovated the residence, aiming to address unreasonable use of space and limited family interaction through innovative spatial planning and aesthetic design.

This project breaks away from limitations of the original floor plan by incorporating balconies into functional areas, resulting in large and small circulation paths to create a more flexible space and promote interaction among family members. The master room employs a dual-door design, and two balconies are connected into one, to achieve the large circulation path. The original dining room is transformed into a study, while the living room expands towards the bedroom. A long dining table designed based on the load-bearing walls connects the sofa in the living room and the water bar area, leading to the small circulation path. This contributes to a living & dining room combo as the core area for family activities.

In terms of aesthetic design, the project utilizes an arched ceiling and interlocking volumes to enhance the overall visual effect. Simple, bright beige as the main color, complemented by wood grain finishes and black metal pieces, offers a warm atmosphere. Moreover, the extensive use of the Jotun Lady Nordic Pure Coating Series that boasts a texture akin to suede adds a refined, gentle touch. Additionally, all home furnishings adopt matte or soft sheen materials, and are decorated with high-gloss metal, creating a comfortable, elegant living environment.
