POLY TAN GIM

Located in the historical city Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, the project covers an area of 5,700 square meters and is designed to carry the millennium-old historical culture of the Jin dynasty. It draws inspiration from the ancient architectural layout of the Jin Memorial Temple and integrates traditional oriental humanistic contexts, to build an immersive narrative space that combines artistic aesthetics. The people-oriented design holds the optimal philosophies of human habitation to create an all-age-friendly garden community life by constructing a living space with diversified themes, complex functions and unlimited boundaries.
The project focuses on sustainable design, the native tree species and on-site rocks were reused to create a landscape that retains the site's memory while minimizing disturbance to the site. An ecologically sustainable landscape has been created through topographic shaping, rain garden construction and other ecological approaches to realize the rainwater utilization.
The design greatly enhances the site's value through the interpretation of culture, art and nature within the limited space. It carves every spatial detail with high-quality workmanship, creating a leisurely oasis in the bustling city.
