"Uncut Jade and Solid Gold" is an art sculpture designed specifically for the Sihui Service Area along the Guanghe Expressway. As the first visual focal point of Guangdong Transportation Group's inaugural ClassⅠ specialty service area, the piece draws inspiration from the city's identity as the "Hometown of Chinese Jade" and is conceptually rooted in the Eastern philosophy of Puyuhunjin (uncut jade and solid gold) from the Southern Dynasties. The design deconstructs the emergence of raw jade from rock formations, portraying a smooth yet serene presence that interacts dynamically with the flow of people in this transportation hub.

Rather than adopting a traditional sculptural narrative, the installation employs a deconstructivist approach to capture the instant of "raw stone revealing its jade." The outer layer, made of color-plated stainless steel, simulates rock textures with abstract curves that subtly echo geological sedimentation patterns. Within, a finely crafted jade-like core emerges, creating a dynamic balance between rigidity and fluidity while exploring the interplay of concealment and revelation. As passersby move through the piece, they experience a transition from the oppressive sensation of traversing rock layers to the surprise of discovering the jade’s radiance, ultimately shifting from mere highway travelers to cultural explorers. This transformation elevates the service area from a transportation node to a site of regional cultural enlightenment.

The sculpture's primary materials include recyclable weathering steel and low-energy resin composites. Its corrosion-resistant surface treatment ensures durability in Lingnan’s humid climate, while also reducing maintenance costs and resource consumption.
