Nestled in the heart of the alpine wilderness, Obsidian is a tiny resort of modular ski-in/ski-out cabins, where the elements of skiing, snow, and geothermal wellness are seamlessly woven into a singular experience. Like shards of volcanic rock embedded in the landscape, its black metal facades contrast with the white terrain, standing bold against the snow. Designed for effortless access to the slopes, each cabin eliminates the transition between sport and rest, allowing skiers to step directly from the warmth of the interior onto the open trail. Within its compact 25 sqm footprint, the space is carefully crafted to include a sleeping area, seating, a compact workspace, and designated ski storage, maximizing efficiency without sacrificing comfort. A geothermal-assisted hot spring provides a natural recovery space, enhancing relaxation after a day on the slopes. Prefabrication allows for low-impact construction, enabling rapid assembly in remote locations. Multiple cabins form a community with centralized public bath and restroom facilities, balancing the privacy of individual retreats with a shared experience of alpine living. Obsidian is more than a winter shelter—it is an immersive retreat where movement, landscape, and architecture become one.
