Alibaba.com’s CoCreate 2024 reimagined B2B event design through a seamless fusion of immersive spatial storytelling, technological innovation, and purpose-driven branding. Hosted in Las Vegas, the event’s space design embodied principles of simplicity, collaboration, and forward-thinking design, translating Alibaba.com’s vision of streamlined global trade into a tactile, interactive experience. The exhibition space was structured around five dynamic zones, each meticulously crafted to foster engagement. Thirty-three global suppliers occupied modular, transparent pods in the Supplier Showcase, where interactive screens enabled hands-on product exploration, symbolizing openness and adaptability. At the Next-Gen Sourcing Center, a futuristic hub anchored by an AI-driven kiosk, buyers engaged in conversational procurement via touchscreens and voice commands, surrounded by minimalist design elements like LED data visualizations that emphasized efficiency. The Top Product Pavilion displayed 800 trending items on rotating platforms, with real-time sales analytics projected overhead, merging aesthetics with utility. Playfulness took center stage at the Dream Cart Challenge Arena, where oversized AR-enabled shopping carts and QR-code-driven virtual builds transformed procurement into a gamified experience, while Buyer Story Photo Zones—curated vignettes with branded backdrops—empowered influencers to generate professional content, later projected live across venue walls to amplify social reach.
Visual cohesion was achieved through Alibaba.com’s signature orange tonal gradients, which unified everything from entrance arches to directional signage, while transparent acrylic partitions and reflective flooring underscored themes of collaborative transparency and energy efficiency. The Inter font, chosen for its multilingual clarity, reinforced professionalism across digital and print materials. Spatial flow was optimized through circular pathways that minimized congestion, strategically placed Learning Centers with touchscreen kiosks, and hybrid integrations like 360° live-streaming cameras and AR wayfinding apps that bridged physical and digital participation for 11M+ online viewers. Sustainability underpinned every decision: modular acrylic panels and LED fixtures were designed for disassembly and reuse, digital catalogs slashed paper waste by 90%, and locally sourced Nevada steel reduced transportation emissions.
