AAAExpansive windows draw in abundant natural light, framing views of the Kaohsiung harbor and cityscape, which open up the home’s perspective and create a sense of spaciousness in harmony with its surroundings. These views not only enhance the visual appeal but also enrich the space with a cultural refinement and a sense of everyday ritual. Thoughtfully designed lighting, tactile elements, and beltline wall paneling that softens the appearance of structural columns bring warmth and comfort to the home. The seamless blend of solid wood and decorative paneling fosters a welcoming, layered atmosphere, adding depth and a refined touch to the space. The design faced challenges related to material shrinkage and coastal humidity. By using solid wood and carbonized panels, these issues were effectively addressed. Additionally, wall paneling with beltline divisions was used to visually reduce the bulkiness of columns and beams. The lifted, curved ceiling design, complemented by organic egg-shaped lighting, enhances spatial height and allows natural light to flow seamlessly into the space. Carbonized material was used throughout the foundational structure, offering near-zero formaldehyde emissions, excellent adsorption properties, humidity regulation, moisture resistance, and insect repellent qualities, ensuring a healthier and more durable living environment. Fingerprint-resistant surface panels were applied to the kitchen central island, complemented by a solid wood tabletop crafted with traditional joinery techniques, beautifully balancing modern functionality with traditional craftsmanship. Natural Wood Flooring was installed in main living areas using natural leaf-pattern and branch inlay techniques, with 3D chamfering to achieve a robust, tactile look that reflects the essence of warm, natural living.
