The elegance of integrating form and esthetics with function expresses a defining sense of place and sophistication in this contemporary mixed-use development. Situated in the heart of Luohu District, one of Shenzhen's rapidly evolving CBDs, Citymark Center redefines the urban landscape. Designed in collaboration with KPF, this landmark development maximizes simplicity and beauty with design cohesiveness.

The design team drew inspiration from the elegance and ingenuity of origami. This innovative approach, which we termed "Urban Origami," involves sculpting, folding, and crafting the landscape and architectural elements to create a cohesive and vibrant spatial environment. The architecture and landscape design reflect the fluidity and precision of origami, with its folded surfaces and intricate forms seamlessly integrating landscape spaces with the urban context. The overall design focused on grounding the tower, defining the landscape building precinct, and sculpting the green plinth, paying special attention to its edge conditions and connections to residential and commercial areas.

Our approach embeds sustainable design practices. The careful manipulation of surfaces and forms allows for efficient water management, drainage, a rich diverse planted landscape, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. These sustainable elements contribute to the overall performance and resilience of the landscape. The treatment and craftsmanship of these elements define the quality and character of the overall landscape design. This integration fosters a sense of community and enhances the quality of life for residents, office workers, and visitors.

Citymark Center symbolizes Luohu's evolution and sets a benchmark for Shenzhen's urban future. It positively impacts the community by driving economic growth, promoting sustainability, and enhancing the urban environment.
