2025 Beigang Lantern Festival

The inspiration for this lantern festival was drawn from Taiwan’s Mazu faith and the 400-year cultural heritage of Beigang, combined with a global sustainability mindset to showcase a fusion of tradition and the future. "Glittering" symbolized the dynamic shimmer of light dancing on water, evoking a sense of stability and reflection; "Procession" represented the pilgrimage of faith and cultural inheritance, uniting people's respect for history with their visions of the future in the interplay of time and space. Through lantern art and innovative lighting technology, the event conveyed local elegance and international perspectives, bringing forth a fresh new look for Taiwan's lantern festivals.

"Glittering Procession" deeply combined traditional lantern craftsmanship with modern art installations to create a multi-layered visual feast and immersive experience. The event invited more than thirty groups of artists from Taiwan and abroad, as well as local artisans, who used light sculpture projections and interactive installations to infuse the cultural landscape of Yunlin and Beigang into the performances. From ancient faith and distinctive industries to natural scenery, the diverse characteristics were all expressed through changes in lighting and rhythmic transitions.
