This tea packaging offers an innovative reinterpretation of the tea ceremony, seamlessly integrating cultural depth, functionality, and sustainability. Inspired by the ancient Chinese ceremonial tablet (Hu)—once held by court officials during imperial audiences—the design transforms this iconic form into a 20cm ultra-long inner pouch. This unique form not only showcases the full shape of Wuyi rock tea leaves but also grants the packaging a distinctive visual identity. By reimagining the historical spirit of “presenting counsel with devotion, bearing national responsibility,” the design translates it into a contemporary social philosophy of “initiating trust with tea, connecting hearts with ritual.”

Through the synergistic interplay of physical structure and visual language, the unboxing experience unfolds as a threefold ritual: Unfolding—Reading—Savoring. The outer box echoes the elegant motion of a palace memorial (Zouzhe) being opened and closed horizontally for the emperor’s review, while its inner side features handwritten calligraphy that merges cursive script with memorial-style typography, presenting the brand’s manifesto. This design fosters an immersive cultural dialogue between the past and the present. The exterior uses “Vermilion Gold” to evoke imperial prestige, paired with textured patterns inspired by Wuyi’s Danxia landform (the sandstone and conglomerate rock formations). This balances natural aesthetics with understated luxury. A subtle arc in the brand’s signature “Elegant Purple” symbolizes the withering stage in rock tea processing, adding a sense of modernity while harmonizing with the vermilion gold for enhanced visual layering. The inner packaging features a milk-white hue reminiscent of traditional ivory Hu tablets, conveying purity and solemnity while embodying the philosophy of harmony between the heaven, earth, humans, and tea. The brand logo “ZIWAN” rests atop rippling water-textured motifs, evoking the tea liquor’s delicate waves—infusing dynamic rhythm and spiritual resonance while reflecting the brand’s core ethos of “time-honored traditions meet modern creativity.”

Beyond its cultural and emotional resonance, the packaging adheres to eco-friendly principles by utilizing FSC-certified paperboard and plant-based inks. The entire design achieves a harmonious balance between ceremonial elegance and ecological responsibility, perfectly aligning with global sustainable design trends.
