Antagami-Ori is a high-performance sports shoe that embodies both innovative design and sustainable ideals. Inspired by the traditional Eastern art of Antagami-Ori origami, Antagami-Ori seamlessly integrates the delicacy of Eastern aesthetics with the precision of modern engineering science. It goes beyond the pursuit of novel forms, delivering a truly visual appeal and exceptional comfort. Zoned Performance Optimization: Unlike conventional outsoles with fixed functionality, Antagami-Ori’s origami-inspired sole allows for region-specific performance tuning. By adjusting the folding parameters across different zones of the outsole, cushioning, rebound and support properties can be precisely tuned for each area. Furthermore, this design can effectively guide gait transition, enhancing the smoothness of movement. Dynamic Adaptability and Stability: The origami structure enables the sole to dynamically conform to uneven surfaces. Localized compression and deformation of the structure effectively absorb impact and conform to ground contours, enhancing stability during movement and providing a smoother, more balanced wear experience. Lightweight Architecture: The intrinsic nature of the origami design allows for hollowed-out sections within the midsole, significantly reducing overall shoe weight without compromising structural supprt property of the sole. This results in improved comfort and flexibility during wear. The upper's design is inspired by the art of origami—a traditional craft where precise structure and aesthetic beauty emerge from simple folds. Its easy-flex structure, with its ingeniously designed medial-lateral asymmetrical layout, artfully echoes the considered creases and structural beauty of origami. These flex zones are not merely decorative; they are meticulously designed to follow the natural alignment of the foot's metatarsals, which enable the upper to conform to the dynamic flexion of the foot during push-off, as to guide a smoother and more efficient power transfer with every step. Rejecting traditional, energy-intensive and non-degradable materials, Antagami-Ori adopts a sustainable innovation philosophy rooted in nature and recyclability. Both the upper and sole primarily utilize TPU, achieving material unification and simplification. This “one shoe, one material” approach greatly enhances recyclability and simplifies the end-of-life processing of the product. The upper utilizes bio-based TPU, partially derived from renewable plant sources such as corn and castor beans.
