Marble veins unfurl from the floor and climb up the walls, interpreting a calm, dusky tone that interweaves with the murky wood surfaces and introduces a Zen aesthetic in grayish tranquility. The exquisite harmony echoes the homeowner's pursuit of refined calm through the lens of the camera, with the images evoking senses of serenity, peace, and everlasting memorization. As an enthusiastic traveler to Japan, the homeowner found inspiration in the meditative ambiance of Japanese Zen philosophy. The designer, in response, anchored the project in the Zen sensibility. Besides, the designer integrated the homeowner's appreciation for German craftsmanship and Italian artistic character, creating a unique fusion of three aesthetic languages. This fusion with nifty detailing and a pop of color accomplishes a striking residence that is a delight for the photography lover. Here, the concept of "home" is transformed into a beautiful image etched into the heart. The project interprets the homeowner’s affinity for deep color palettes that backdrop the interior with expansive dark-toned wood and stone surfaces. The design incorporates linear elements such as a wood slat partition and open shelving, evoking a layered depth characteristic of Japanese Zen style as the interplay of natural grains and symmetrical lines intersperse it. In contrast to the subdued finishes, some blue and orange furnishings incorporate a pop of color, leather, and curves to delineate Italian aesthetics. Display units feature sleek metal framing that pairs with mirrored back panels and clear glass doors, showcasing the refined simplicity of German craftsmanship. By harmonizing three distinct design languages, the interior becomes a bespoke reflection of the resident’s exclusive lifestyle: a serene yet expressive space that embodies the brand’s philosophy of “bringing a beautiful life through spatial transitions. Since the homeowner is currently the primary occupant, the designer thoughtfully reimagined the layout to comply with their daily habits of spending a long time in the public area. By removing a part of the kitchen walls, the space accommodates a kitchen island with expanded footprints.
