Wandering Clouds

As the Tao Te Ching says, “The great Tao flows, recedes, and returns.”
Boundless and transcendent, the Tao moves beyond time and space. Time flows endlessly, while space stretches without limits, revolving in ceaseless cycles of renewal.
This piece depicts a crane with its neck gracefully arched in reflection, embodying the Daoist philosophy of balance between movement and stillness. Its feet remain still upon the earth, yet its posture carries the rhythm of drifting clouds. The metal surface, refined with a special texture, imbues the wings with a sense of motion within stillness, as if capturing light as it travels through time and space. The curved neck echoes the rotation of the Taiji, and the backward gaze crystallizes the idea of “observing the return,” inviting contemplation of the cosmic cycle and the essence of all things within constant transformation.
