The Uni-President Tea King series encompasses three classic tea beverages, Dongding Oolong, Jasmine Longjing, and Lapsang Souchong, representing the quintessential categories of Chinese tea culture: green tea, black tea, and oolong tea.

The packaging design draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese tea culture concept of “selecting the vessel for the tea,” where different teas are paired with specific teaware to optimize the drinking experience. Rooted in this cultural context, the designer integrated iconic teaware corresponding to each tea into the visual system of the packaging. Through the shapes, color schemes, and textural details of the teaware, a visual language is crafted that resonates with the unique characteristics of each tea, conveying the core product proposition of “a lingering sweetness akin to freshly brewed tea.”

Jasmine Longjing, a green tea infused with jasmine flowers, features packaging with green as the primary color, symbolizing nature and freshness. The teaware imagery is inspired by the pressed-hand cup, widely used during the Ming and Qing dynasties, reflecting traditional craftsmanship and aesthetic charm. Lapsang Souchong, a representative black tea, adopts red as its dominant color to convey warmth and richness, with teaware design referencing the open-rimmed straight cup, aligning with black tea brewing and tasting habits. Dongding Oolong, originating from Taiwan’s Dongding Mountain, is a semi-fermented oolong tea blending flavors of green and black tea. Its packaging employs gold as the main color, symbolizing transition and fusion, with teaware inspired by the southern region’s iconic douli cup, echoing local cultural heritage.

Additionally, the packaging emphasizes texture and visual depth: teacup rims and internal tea leaf patterns utilize gold foil stamping to enhance visual refinement and tactile experience. The Uni-President Tea King series packaging reflects a deep understanding of traditional tea culture while achieving an organic blend of cultural heritage and innovative expression through modern design techniques, creating a highly recognizable and emotionally resonant product identity.
