SERENE HILL

The project is located in Lanzhou, Gansu, where the mountains and rivers of Longyuan have long stood as a poetic footnote to the earth's backbone. Delving deep into Lanzhou's mountain spirit essence, the designer interpreted and reinterpreted Shanhuanhuan brand's youthful natural identity through spatial vocabulary. Centered on the theme "Mountains in Heaven and Earth, Taste and Freshness Found," the space profoundly integrates the geological epic of the Qilian Mountains with contemporary urbanites' longing for escape. Continuing the brand's cultural context, it creates a dining space that merges wilderness allure with commercial appeal, redefining urban dining through natural dimensions and spiritual depth. The wooden facade at the entrance area is geometrically carved to form an abstract silhouette of mountain ranges. The brand's illuminated signage, like a luminous gem embedded in a cliff, preserves the rugged essence of the wilderness while infusing modern aesthetic tension. The layered ceiling interweaves with angled pillars, creating a contrast between stability and dynamism. The interplay of vertical volumes throughout the space evokes a silent dialogue of mountainscapes, while the bold branding system collectively cultivates a contemporary wilderness aesthetic. In the dining area, a serene and cozy ambiance is delineated by greenery and semi-height travertine brick partitions—separate yet connected, like an untamed mountain landscape. Woven rattan pendant lights cascade from above, their warm glow fragmented by the vines, resembling dappled sunlight filtering through forest foliage. The low-saturation, muted tones quietly filter out the clamor of the city. The selection of spatial materials unfolds as a contemporary alchemy of natural elements. Walls are clad in custom-textured plaster, hand-scraped to mimic the weathered striations of wind-eroded cliffs. Through dynamic interplay of shifting light and layered materiality, the brand’s signature celadon-green emerges in metallic details throughout the space. The ethereal lightness of rattan, the substantial heft of leather, the mineral coolness of bluish bricks, and the primal ruggedness of rammed earth coexist in deliberate contrast and harmony. Here, raw elemental materials are reborn, crafting an "edible mountain retreat that breathes" – where fingertips trace the very pulse of wilderness.
