The Audiovisual Launch Event for the new lighting of the Temple of Poseidon was a captivating celebration of the New Lighting of the Temple of Poseidon.

The Greek Ministry of Culture assigned to Stavros Xarchakos, a renowned and well esteemed composer, the artistic direction of the concert of this Event, while we were honored to design the lighting for the lighting show as well. The concept was the lighting of the concert and the lighting of the show to be as minimal as possible, yet profound.

As dusk fell, the event began with a synchronized light show of about 3 minutes duration in absolute silence. Light beams surrounding the Temple and some positioned even inside, seemed to emerge from its very heart and transformed the site into a dynamic visual experience. And there was music.

In the finale, a specially designed light show of 6 minutes was presented at a perfect synchronization with the last piece of music, ultimately revealing the new architectural lighting design in all its brilliance. Symbolically, the beams revived life in the Temple ending in a single beam rising into the sky.

For the lighting design of the Audiovisual Launch Event , we employed energy-efficient LED lighting technology to reduce energy consumption and minimize heat emission, ensuring the temple remains unharmed and caring about its marble. We placed the light fixtures inside and around the Temple for just the time the event needed to be completed. The entire light show lasted 9 minutes in total, showcasing not only its creativity but also its commitment to energy efficiency. The moving heads didn’t touch the monument; instead, a discreet base was created between the marble and the light fixtures. It was not an issue of power consumption but of respect to the Temple.
