The landscape design draws inspiration from Fuzhou's traditional Rong embroidery, known for its vibrant colors and intricate weaving patterns. This cultural motif is abstracted into the landscape through a crisscross circulation layout and repeated use of woven elements in paving, lighting, metal grilles, and facade details, giving every element unique cultural meaning and aesthetic richness. The design establishes a luxurious and immersive atmosphere by incorporating rare and high-value materials such as Madagascar Blue Jade—referred to as the “Hermès” of stones—and customized blue resin glass in water features, creating a dreamlike visual experience. The central entrance plaza, ceremonial axis, and sunken courtyard are carefully composed to evoke a sense of grandeur and poetic rhythm, with handcrafted glass waterfalls, woven metal detailing, and symbolic references to the Minjiang River. A full-coverage, all-weather corridor connects the entire residential area, ensuring comfort in all seasons. Customized lifestyle spaces—including a children’s activity zone themed around the regional “elephant” symbol, a community vegetable garden, fitness areas, and immersive social atriums—enhance intergenerational interaction and foster a strong sense of place. Sculptural installations and landscape zoning promote discovery and engagement across age groups. Sponge city principles are deeply embedded in the project. The system includes rain gardens, permeable paving, and sunken green zones designed to collect, filter, and reuse stormwater. Adjustments to micro-topography help overcome drainage mismatches with existing municipal systems. A 1:1 construction sample was created to demonstrate ecological layering techniques before implementation, ensuring technical accuracy. The project also emphasizes sustainability through the use of local materials, reducing carbon emissions associated with long-distance transportation. Plant selections are regionally adaptive, requiring minimal irrigation and maintenance. Community-based initiatives such as edible landscapes and ecological interpretation signage promote environmental education and encourage resident participation in ecological stewardship. Overall, the project merges luxurious living with cultural expression and environmental responsibility, creating a functional, artistic, and future-oriented landscape that supports community well-being and ecological resilience.
