Future Ark-LIJIANG BOOKS

Inspired by the concept of “an urban oasis of knowledge,” this project envisions a vertically immersive cultural realm. Situated at the intersection of a TOD node and urban renewal zone, the space blends reading, exhibitions, café culture, and social interaction, creating a multi-functional book lounge that traverses levels and merges lifestyle with cultural experiences.
Drawing from the site's spatial conditions, the design interconnects functional zones through a strategic column-grid logic, forming a fluid journey from a subway museum to art galleries, from coffee corners to children's reading areas. The vertical circulation fosters unexpected spatial dialogues, enriching the sense of interaction and discovery throughout.
Like a seed of culture germinating beneath the city surface, the design embraces diversity, inclusiveness, and freedom—redefining everyday reading rituals and reimagining the potential of public urban space. It is both a cultural oasis rooted in the soil of Nanning and a spiritual container where one is invited to pause, immerse, and reflect.
